VOGUE SHOPPING NIGHT

Vogue online shopping night is upon us! The one night (well, the best night) where we can practice all those skills that midnight shopping has taught us. And we can actually PURCHASE those full shopping carts, and not abandon them due to *empty wallet syndrome*

Here are my pick for Vogue shopping night which officially started at 12 pm. Ready, Set, GO!

* The Daily Edited – it’s time to join the monogrammed clutch/bag trend with 20% off their online store

* Alias Mae – A Melbourne label with a cult following from creating high-quality leather footwear. 25% off all styles online

* Neuw Denim – time to top up those black skinny jeans that have faded from last winter. Maybe even grab a new jacket? Neuw have 25% off their online store

* Tony Bianco – everyone knows the way to a person’s heart is via SHOES! 20% off storewide

* Camilla and Marc – their VAMFF runway collection is still echoing in my head, so now’s the time to snap up the perfect shirt. 20% online and in boutiques

* IN BED – Since you will be doing most of your shopping in bed, its seems only suitable to order new bed linen for further in bed browsing. 20% off all IN BED branded products online

* SIR the label – beautifully created garments featuring minimal silhouettes and luxurious fabrics. One of my favourite labels. 20% off online

* Holly Ryan – Who doesn’t know about these beautiful, timeless jewellery creations? 25% off online

* The Undone – although not on the retailer’s list, this online store curated by Sara of Harper & Harley has everything the blogger could need! 20% off sitewide with code FLASH20

For the past 2 years I have been focusing on re-organising my style and creating a quality wardrobe full of pieces that I enjoy wearing and will wear often. In 2015/2016 I gained some pieces that will remain staples in my wardrobe (Leather Jacket, Gucci slides, Silk Dresses).

These staples can be worn over and over again, reworked with other items and still look good.

My wardrobe essentials include:

* Leather jacket
*Black Cardigan
*Skinny Black Jeans
*Shorts
*Black Pants
*Black, White and Grey Tee
*Black Skirt
*Black and White Shirt
*Quality Boots
*Quality Heels
*Casual Dress/Formal Dress
*Flat shoes such as slides/sneakers
*Accessories such as belts and hats

Building a staple wardrobe for yourself all depends on your personal style. I prefer blacks, whites and grey as a basis for my wardrobe, although I do like to add a touch of seasonal colours such as blush and fatigue.

As you can see from the top image, my wardrobe is getting a bit full. So in the coming weeks I shall be getting all “Konmari” on it!

In my ideal world, these 3 outfits would be the only ones I needed for the rest of 2016.

Minimalistic Silhouettes

As Melbourne starts to turn up the weather we can all turn to simpler, minimalistic silhouettes to avoid the heat.

I have been after a simple shift dress in black for quite some time now. My search started when I saw a girl walking down the street wearing a simple black shift dress, black boots and a “don’t care” attitude, I instantly wanted a dress like hers.

My search was finally over in early November when Landes Warehouse held their famous Warehouse Sale. Now if you have never been to Landes Warehouse, I urge you to go right now! Their stores are literally jam packed with bargains from brands such as Mink Pink, Somedays Lovin, Evil Twin and my personal favourite, Staple the Label.

After a (free!) hot chocolate and meeting the lovely sales assistants, I was ready to shop.
I am pretty sure I could have done 7+ rounds of the store and STILL find something that I hadn’t seen before! Once I had my hands full it was off the change rooms where the girls were unpacking even more stock!

I selected my top 4 and headed to the counter (I seriously could have chosen 10 more pieces but unfortunately my wardrobe is so beyond full!)
Everyone was so polite and I even got to see old friends (Hey Erin!)

Those 4 pieces are sure to become staple pieces over summer. So make sure you visit Landes Warehouse to pick up some unbelievable bargains for yourself or even Christmas presents.

I was lucky enough to be contacted by the lovely Reannon, who is an amazing photographer, and she wanted to photograph me!

Below are the results of her talent, be sure to follow her on insta to see more of this brilliant lady

I also love how this dress has swishy, witchy vibe to it. Reminds me of Halloween!

Yes, it’s true, I’M WEARING COLOUR!

I discovered these ABBA-esque pants on Asos and feel deeply in lust.

I have slowly been adding touches of colour to my wardrobe over the past few months, it started with an army green bomber jacket and has now moved on to a light pink shirt dress and these blush pants.
As always, I will still pair them with my minimal toned pieces to keep true to my monochrome stylings.

Hey Mom!

I’ve finally found the perfect pair of Mom jeans! High rise – check! Straight Leg – check! Black – check!
Also new in my wardrobe is this L/S top, which I also purchased in black.

In other news, my hair is getting ridiculously thick. I feel like a new style is in order… maybe a fringe to shake it up?

In an attempt to utilise my summer wardrobe more and spend less, I decided to experiment with layering long sleeve tops under dresses. The result? this cute little outfit which I love!

VAMFF

VAMFF has finished for the year, but I still can’t let it go!

Laura and I visited two VAMFF runways this year – Opening night presented by David Jones and Premium Runway 5 Presented by Shop til you Drop.

2016-03-12 11.31.44

Of Course, we couldn’t miss the opportunity for an outfit snap pre-show!

Opening Night

Opening night was presented by David Jones and included many designers such as Manning Cartell, Keepsake the Label, Lover, Alexander Wang, Scanlan Theodore, Bec & Bridge and the big finale, Ellery.

Having never been to a VAMFF Opening Night, I was memorized by the runway – beautiful designs and a vibrant atmosphere.

I didnt manage to catch any photos – so enjoy some from Fashion Journal

Third Form
Third Form has to be one of my favourite designers. This season’s collection was textured but had sleek designs. My stand-out favourite was the fluffy, off the shoulder jumper and pants/skirt combo.

Finders Keepers
Finders Keepers featured a surprising twist on the Candy Stripe. I feel this is going to be a big hit for the label, a perfect pop of colour for those dreary days.

Wild Horses
I am pretty sure it was love at first sight with this season’s Wild Horses collection. Laser cut fabrics, sheer layers and barely there straps, but in simple silhouettes. a deep, turquoise blue was the standout colour of the collection. My favourite was a simple black v neck, flared sleeve shift dress.

White Suede
White Suede was the perfect mix of girl boss, monochrome dressing. Suits, sheer fabrics and lace were featured, along with a tough-chic aesthetic with the introduction of leather jackets/vests over laser cut skirts and floaty fabrics.

Thurley
Thurley was perfection in lace, fringing and laser cut fabrics. A touch of blue and red was seen amongst the black and white. A collection that cannot be faulted with the overall stand out a beaded, sheer train dress.
